With the gradual closure of training facilities abroad and lack of openings in Dermatology in the Western World for our doctors; we are now producing our own Specialists. When Pakistan came into being, there was not a single Dermatologist in the country and even though there were two Medical Colleges. Postgraduate Medical Education was nonexistent but today we have qualified Dermatologists in all major cities. Every Medical College has a Department of Dermatology as a separate chair unlike in the times of yore when Dermatology was a sub-specialty. Postgraduate medical training of the highest quality is imparted in all major cities of Pakistan.
